AFTES – National Technical Days 2025
Dont’t miss the AFTES National Technical Days !
On 18 and 19 March in Toulouse, immerse yourself in the latest technical advances and innovations in the underground world. A day and a half of conferences, discussions and networking with industry experts!
This is a great opportunity to discover two of our innovative solutions, UBY Soil and UBY Structure, which are being deployed on the new line’s construction sites and will be presented by our client Bouygues Travaux Publics!
The National Technical Days organised by AFTES gave us the opportunity to find out more about the TITANIC construction projects currently underway for the new Toulouse metro line.
And we at UBY are very proud to have been able to play our part in this challenge on the Lot 4 construction site, carried out by the Horizon Consortium comprising Bouygues Travaux Publics, Bouygues Travaux Publics Régions France, Soletanche Bachy and BESSAC.
A heartfelt thank you to Thierry JUSSAUME, his teams and the consortium for showcasing the UBY Soil and UBY Structure solutions deployed on Lot 4 of the Toulouse Metro project.
These cutting-edge systems deliver:
🚛 Real-time and continuous monitoring of ground displacements during the advance of the TBM Marguerite de Catellan, in order to control ground movement risks and quantify the impacts of TBM steering.
⏱ Continuous geotechnical monitoring of ground movements along the advance of the TBM Marguerite de Catellan, ensuring proactive risk management of soil settlements and providing precise feedback on TBM steering impacts.
📣 Real-time monitoring of strut loads, which made it possible to identify an unexpected overload… caused by temperature effects! A cooling system even had to be deployed to reduce the thrust exerted on the diaphragm walls they were designed to support.
🌍 And of course, environmental monitoring (vibration, noise, and dust) providing quantitative evidence that the project is in full compliance with environmental standards.
What a challenge! 💪 Many thanks as well to our partner SITES SAS for supporting us on this project, and to the UBY field teams on site.
UBY is growing rapidly and we are constantly looking for new employees.
